Open research is about making the processes and outputs of research freely accessible and usable, with the aim of increasing rigour, accountability, reproducibility and openness. Open research practices vary by discipline, but include pre-registration and registered reports, data-sharing, open software and code, preprints, open peer-review and open access publication.
